Yehaw!

Tex made his debut at home on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 1:50 pm (PST).  I know.  I'm a slacker.  It took me 56 hours to finally get this post up.

He weighed 8 pounds and was 21 inches long.

He was thinking about keeping his own blahg but I told him "You know, you're a baby.  You're only two days old.  You've got a lot on your plate right now.  How about asking your daddy to set up a section just for you on my blahg?"  And he said, "Waaa!  Well, ok."  I'm glad he's learning at an early age to listen to his mama's wisdom.

I don't know how often he'll keep up . . . you know how babies are.

P.S. - Thank you for praying for me.  I was still sick but on the road to recovery (feeling much better) when I went into labor on Sunday morning.  My greek god is still working on getting some pictures ready for posting.  Stay tuned.

one sick mama

Ummm.

I'm thinking this is not a good thing.  I've got a sore throat and aches.  In regular ol' life this is rather inconvenient.  In pregnancy life with the "any day now" thing going on this could prove to be bad.  Very bad.

Please pray that I either get well quickly and my labor doesn't start until I feel better or that I get well quickly and my labor doesn't start until I feel better.

Ok.  Fine.  Please pray that if I'm not feeling better by the time labor starts that I will be strong enough to get through it.  I have to depend on the Lord in labor anyway and being sick would definitely put me in greater need of Him.  I want Him to be glorified no matter what.  I just pray I continue to have that attitude.

Also, I don't want to be sick with a newborn since I don't want my precious lil' one to get sick.  I am hoping that the rest of the Dan Clan doesn't get whatever I have.

Thank you for praying.

welcome to my new home!

Welcome to my new home on the blogosphere.

There are boxes everywhere.  Some serious decorating needed but there is a spot right over there on the sofa for you to sit.  Oh, watch out.  Yeah, the guy who fixes stuff has to  . . . fix that.

Would you like some coffee?  Tea?  Milk and Nilla Wafers?

What was that?  Yeah.  I like it here, too.  Some women have had their hubbies build their real life homes and my hubby built my virtual one.  I think he did a nice job.  He's been anxious for me to get settled in.  Just like in real life I don't "do the moving thing" . . . I struggle with moving even in the virtual realm.  The good thing is that here I just have to look at virtual boxes and not the real ones.  Plus most of you coming to visit already have been in my other virtual home so you know me.  You're good friends and family so I don't feel like I have to impress you while I try to figure out where the flowers should go, what color to paint the bathroom (huh? Well, you know I can be crass at times so there needs to be a place for "potty talk" I suppose.  Although, I do try to limit that.), should I put a picture there or there . . . that kind of thing.

One thing in particular I am looking forward to with my new blahg is that I'll be able to share more pictures and personal info through the "private access" portion of this blahg.  I'll be able to give some of y'all a key, as it were, to my home.  Dan put in a registered users portion specifically for personal friends and family.  This is great for those who live too far away or your (and our) lives are so busy that you are missing out on watching the kids grow.  I figure I'll post something telling you that I posted pictures in the "got the keys" section that way you won't feel like you've got to keep checking.  Or, maybe I'll do something different.  See what I mean?  Flowers here?  Flowers there?

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Are you sure you don't want some Nilla Wafers for the road?
